John W. Mitchell, Esq. is a seasoned litigator with extensive experience in handling federal and state criminal and civil trials, appeals and post-conviction proceedings. Mr. Mitchell began his career as an associate with the firm of LaRossa Shargel & Fischetti. Soon thereafter he formed a partnership with James LaRossa and Michael Ross. LaRossa Mitchell & Ross was one of Manhattan’s most highly regarded litigation firms which eventually grew to 21 lawyers and staff. He remained a principal partner at LaRossa Mitchell and Ross for more than 15 years until leaving to pursue his own interests. He holds an “AV” rating from the national attorney peer rating agency Martindale Hubbell. The award of an “AV” rating attests to the fact that a lawyer’s peers have ranked him at the highest level of professional excellence and ethical standards. He is aggressive, accomplished and respected by judges and prosecutors alike. He has served as a lecturer and author for the Practicing Law Institute. Although based in New York City, Mr. Mitchell has practiced throughout the United States.
